How will I know if my insurance company covers the cost of services?
Once MedCare Express submits your claim for services provided, you will receive an Explanation of Benefits from the insurance company that describes how your claim was processed, and the amount that you are responsible for paying. lf you are responsible for paying an amount, you will receive a statement from MedCare Express.
What if I forgot my insurance card?
We understand that accidents happen quickly. If you are unable to provide your insurance information at the time of your visit, you can be seen by making payment at the time of service. If you provide insurance information at a later date, we will be happy to refund any money due after the insurance claim is reconciled.
What is an Urgent Care Services/S9088 charge?
Also called an S-Code, the Urgent Care charge represents a contracted agreement with your insurance company that covers the additional costs of providing urgent care services. Extended hours of operation and a broader range of services than other available healthcare options (such as X-rays, labs) all factor into this charge.
What should I expect regarding co-pay?
At the time of service, a MedCare Express Front Office Associate collects the co-pay amount, as determined by your insurance company.
MedCare Express accepted my insurance card, so why do I have a balance?
MedCare Express will submit your information to the insurance you have provided. However, if MedCare Express is not In-Network with your insurance company, you may still owe a balance once the insurance company has covered the out-of-network portion for your services. To verify that your insurance considers MedCare Express In-Network or to confirm your Plan’s specific details about co-insurance or deductibles, please check with your insurance company. Feel free to call the MedCare Express location you plan to visit to confirm network status with your plan.
My co-pay is usually lower. Why is it higher this time?
Co-pay amounts can vary depending on the details of your insurance plan. Emergency visits, Urgent Care visits, and appointments with your primary care provider may all differ. Please check with your insurance company to verify the details of your plan.
Why did I receive a bill from a laboratory?
While MedCare Express has the capability to do many labs on site, some circumstances require that we draw blood here and forward to a lab for processing. This lab will generate a separate charge, based on the test that needs to be completed.
